As part of the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the Single National System, Racing Australia deployed a number of updates at 7.30pm AEST on Monday 29 July 2024 one of which related to the Racing Queensland Owners Acceptance SMS template.  Whilst the change to the template had passed testing, an error arose which resulted in 42,438 SMS notifications being inadvertently sent out to owners regarding race meetings from the year 2017.

The SMS template change was reversed by Racing Australia within an hour of the problem being identified.

The SMS’s only impacted owners who had horses accepted in Queensland races in 2017.

Racing Australia understands the inconvenience and confusion this may have caused and sincerely apologises for any disruption and appreciates your understanding. The Racing Australia team will thoroughly review this incident and will implement further measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.
